Greetings Beloved Church of the Covenant Family,

Our guest preacher for this Sunday’s Worship Service (August 8th) is Reverend Susan Fair.

In 1979, Rev. Susan Fair began a successful career at the New York Stock Exchange as a Communications Coordinator. She worked her way up to a Senior Special Analyst. Rev. Susan is the first in her family to be called into ministry. She completed her Master’s degree in Divinity and graduated from the New York Theological Seminary in 2013. Before that, in October 2010, she was Licensed/Ordained by COGIC Jurisdictional Bishop Ernest C. Morris in Philadelphia. She achieved her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Metropolitan College of NY in 1996 and another Master’s degree at Fordham University in NY in 1998.

Rev. Susan served as a Seminary Assistant at the First Presbyterian Church in Irvington, NJ, and three years as the Youth Pastor at the Eastchester Presbyterian Church in the Bronx, NY. During those same years, Rev. Susan served as a Chaplain Intern at several hospitals in New York City. Rev. Susan also served as the Pastoral Intern at the Church of the Covenant in Tudor City, Manhattan.

In January 2019, Rev. Susan retired from the Jersey City Public System schools. She is a Board-Certified Chaplain and community chaplain for the Jersey City Police Department. Rev. Susan plans to complete a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Chaplaincy by November 2021. She is a part-time lecturer at Nyack College, the Co-Founder and Secretary of the Jersey City Women’s Clergy Alliance. For five years, Reverend Susan served as an Associate Minister at Bethesda Baptist Church in Jersey City.  One of her favorite biblical quotes is Philippians 4:9 “the things which you learned, received, heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.”
